Russian author Leo Tolstoy with his granddaughter Tatiana, Yasnaya Polyana, Russia, c1910. Tolstoy (1828-1910) is widely regarded as one of the greatest of all novelists, particularly noted for his masterpieces War and Peace and Anna Karenina. Yasnaya Polyana, near Tula, was the home where Tolstoy was born and lived. After his death he was buried there and it was made into his memorial museum, restored to how it was when he live there. Found in the collection of the State Museum of AS Pushkin, Moscow
