Leisure Moments at Westerham, c1930s, (1945). British politician and statesman Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965) laying bricks on his estate at Westerham in Kent. He had taken up bricklaying as a hobby and became and adult apprentice. Churchill was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1940 to 1945, and again from 1951 to 1955. From "The Life and Times of Winston Churchill", by Malcolm Thomson. [Odhams Press Limited, London]
