The north section of the 450 Pagodas, Mandalay, Burma (Myanmar), 1900s. Before us are a few of the 450 pagodas, arranged in an immense square in the centre of which stands a magnificent temple. Each pagoda contains treasured stone tablets on which are carved portions of the Burmese Holy Book.
