Yorck's meeting with the Russian General Diebitsch, 25 December 1812, (1936). 'Verhandlung Yorcks Mit Dem Russischen General Diebitsch, 25 Dezember 1812'. Prussian general Johann David Ludwig Graf Yorck von Wartenburg (1759-1830) negotiates with Count Ivan Ivanovich Diebitsch-Zabalkansky (1785-1831). On 30 December, Yorck signed the Convention of Tauroggen (at Tauroggen, now Taurage, Lithuania), declaring his troops neutral. The agreement effectively ended the fragile Franco-Prussian alliance during the French invasion of Russia.
