The family of King James I of England, Scotland and Ireland, (1816). His Majesty James I, King of England and his royal progeny, together with the family of the King of Bohemia. James (1566-1625) became King of Scotland in 1567 and England in 1601. The son of Mary Queen of Scots, James VI of Scotland became the first of the Stuart monarchs on the English throne when Elizabeth I died in 1601. His son Charles succeeded him as king in 1625. James daughter Elizabeth married Frederick V, Elector Palatine, who briefly was King of Bohemia in 1619-1620 (the Winter King ).
