Colonel Guthrie on U.S.S. Recruit, July 1917. Colonel Percy Albert Guthrie (1884-1948), leader of the 236th Canadian Infantry (the Maclean Highlanders), speaking on the U.S.S. Recruit, a wooden battleship mockup built in Union Square, New York City by the Navy to recruit seamen and sell Liberty Bonds during World War I.
