Legende: " Bonaparte, cours, vole au secours de Paoli pour le tirer des mains de ses ennemis". Drawing of Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) by a fellow pupil at the military academy at Brienne-le-Chateau, France. He is being ridden by Corsican patriot Pascal Paoli, and the text alludes to the enthusiastic feelings for Paoli which Napoleon displayed despite his youth. From " Napoleon", by Raymond Guyot. [H.
