Westminster Bridge and St Thomass Hospital, London, 1887. Designed by Thomas Page, Westminster Bridge was completed in 1862. St Thomass Hospital was originally founded in 1109. It relocated from Southwark to the South Bank in the 1860s and these buildings were designed by Henry Currey and opened by Queen Victoria in 1871. The hospital incorporated Nightingale Wards, allowing maximum ventilation and the dispersal of foul air, as recommended by Florence Nightingale, who worked at St Thomass and established a nursing training school there
