Sunset, Wheal Coates tin mine, St Agnes, Cornwall, 2009. The clifftop mine of Wheal Coates began to be worked in 1802. The ruined buildings that remain today date from the 1870s. The mine closed in 1889 but re-opened in 1911 before closing for good two years later. The buildings are owned and maintained by the National Trust
