Steam engine by James Watt, 1915

Steam engine by James Watt, 1915. Watt (1736-1819), Scottish engineer and inventor, greatly improved the efficiency of the steam engine by inventing the separate condenser. He also introduced sun-and-planet gearing to convert the up-and-down motion of the beam to rotary motion for driving machinery
