St Blaise and St Guerin, 19th century. St Blaise or Blasius, Bishop of Sebaste, Armenia, was martyred in c316. St Guerin (1065-1150) was a Swiss Benedectine monk who became Bishop of Sion, Valais. At Blaises feet is a lion and at Guerins an ox. Both men wear mitres and carry croziers, symbols of their office as Bishops
