Portrait of Cornelia Salonina, wife of the Roman Emperor Gallienus, mid 3rd century. Cornelia Salonina was the wife of Gallienus, who was co-emperor with his father Valerian from 253 until 260 before ruling alone until 268. Her fate is unknown after Gallienus was killed while laying siege to the rebel held city of Mediolanum (Milan) in 268. She was the mother of Valerian II, Saloninus and Marinianus. Found in the collection of The Hermitage, St Petersburg
