Pharaoh Horemheb with the goddess Isis and the god Horus, Ancient Egyptian, 14th century BC. Horemheb (reigned c1321-c1293 BC) was the last king of the 18th dynasty. A former general and advisor to Tutankhamun, his rule was notable for the restoration of the traditional Egyptian religion which had been replaced by the worship of the god Aten under the Pharaoh Akhenaten. Horemheb is depicted flanked by Isis, with horns and the solar disc on her head, and her son the falcon headed god Horus. Wall painting from the Valley of the Kings, Luxor, Egypt
