Middlesex Guildhall on the Site of the Ancient Sanctuary of Westminster, c1935

Middlesex Guildhall on the Site of the Ancient Sanctuary of Westminster, c1935. Middlesex Guildhall court building in Parliament Square in London was built on the site of the belfry of Westminster Abbey. The current building was designed by JS Gibson and opened in 1913. It has been used as the County Hall of Middlesex, as the seat of the Greater London Quarter Sessions, as a county court, and latterly as the home of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom and of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.
