William Lillywhite, c1850. Portrait of English cricketer William Lillywhite (1792-1854) who did not play his first game at Lords until 1827 when he was 35. His best year was 1844 when he took 115 wickets despite being over 50. Lillywhite
started a cricket outfitters in London which became one of the best know sports stores in Britain. He died of cholera
