Battlecruiser HMS Hood, seen from HMS Nelson, 1937. The largest warship in the Royal Navy, HMS Hood exploded and sank while engaging the German battleship Bismarck and the heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen in the Denmark Strait on 24th May 1941.
