Letter from Henry St John, Viscount Bolingbroke, to George Clarke, formerly Secretary at War, 27th June 1715. Letter written from Belle Vue near Lyons, giving Bolingbrokes reason for not remaining in Paris, expressing his reliance on the good opinion of his friends and on his innocence, and announcing his intention to await the report of the Secret Commitee (which resulted in his impeachment and attainder on 18th August).
