The disaster of the " Promethee", 1932. La Catastrophe du " Promethee". The French Navy submarine Promethee (Prometheus) sank suddenly off the coast of Normandy on 7 July 1932. 62 of her 69 crew were lost, and the incident was a national disaster in France.
