Grace Darling and her Father Saving the Shipwrecked Crew, September 8th, 1838, (1942). In 1838 Grace Darling and her father William Darling, a local lighthouse keeper, heroically rescued victims of the wreck of the SS Forfarshire off the Farne Islands. She died from tuberculosis in 1842, aged just 26. Design made 1857-1858 for the decoration of the inner court of Wallington Hall, Northumberland. From " English Women", by Edith Sitwell.
