'York Minster, As it appeared from St. Peter's School, on the night of the Fire (May 20th 1840'. View of the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York, North Yorkshire, during a fire which destroyed much of the nave, south west tower and south aisle. The building, which dates back to the 12th century and was consecrated in 1472, was restored.
