Royal Navy warship fires cannon in greeting as Queen Victoria's yacht passes the Nore, a sandbank at the mouth of the Thames Estuary: The royal yacht, after leaving the Nore, altered her course, and bore upon the north-east, proceeding through the channel between the Long-sand and the coast. King's Bridge, 1874. Bridge over the Spuyten Duyvil Creek, New York City, USA. King's Bridge crosses the river near Spuyten-Duyvil Creek, which unites the Harlem [River] with the Hudson [River]. This is an old, historic bridge, identified with many of the early events in the history of the town'. The first King's Bridge was built in 1693 at Marble Hill near what is now West 230th Street in the Bronx.
