"Mercurius Civicus: Londons Intelligencer, or, Truth impartially related from thence to the whole Kingdome to prevent mis-information" was a weekly newspaper which supported the Roundhead (Parliamentary) cause. Sir R. Fanshaw, (1608-1666), 1830. Sir Richard Fanshawe, 1st Baronet (1608-1666) English poet, translator, linguist, diplomat and politician, educated at Jesus College, Cambridge. Thomas Case, M.A., 17th century, (late 18th-early 19th century). Portrait of Thomas Case (c1598-1682), English clergyman and ejected minister. Case was a defender of the Parliamentary cause during the English Civil War, but he fell out of sympathy with the regicides and became a supporter of the Restoration of the Stuart monarchy.
