The Prince of Wales and the Duke of Edinburgh laying the Foundation Stone of the new Eddystone Lighthouse, August 19, 1879, (1901). Prince Albert Edward (1841-1910), the future King Edward VII, and his brother Prince Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1844-1900) at the site of the fourth Eddystone Lighthouse off the coast of Cornwall. The tower was designed by James Nicholas Douglass to warn shipping away from the dangerous Eddystone Rocks.
