Francisco Vicente Aquilera, (1821-1877), 1920s
Francisco Vicente Aquilera, was born in 1821 in the city of Bayame. He travelled to Europe and America. In August 1867 he founded the first revolutionary committee in Bayamo. He freed his 400 slaves and was War Secretary in 1869. He died in New York in 1877.
