The Old Signs Have Come Back To Lombard Street, c1935. Signs in Lombard Street in the City of London, erected for the coronation of Edward VII in 1902. The signs had previously been removed, as they occasionally caused injuries or fatalities if they fell on pedestrians. Lombard Street, one of the main Roman roads of Londinium, was granted to goldsmiths from Lombardy in northern Italy in the 13th century, and was the origin of Londons banking and financial district. 10x8 Print in an MDF Wooden Frame with 180 gsm Satin Finish Paper. Glazed using shatter proof thin plexi glass. Frame thickness is 1 inch and depth 0.75 inch. Fluted cardboard backing held with clips. Supplied ready to hang with sawtooth hanger and rubber bumpers. Spot clean with a damp cloth. Packaged foam wrapped in a card.
