In the 1960s she became a Hollywood superstar, winning Best Actress Oscars for BUtterfield 8 (1960) and Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf (1966). In 1963 she received what was then the highest fee for appearing in a film, when she signed up to play the title role in Cleopatra
