Bully beef or corned beef is meat made from minced salt-cured brisket of beef in gelatin. The word bully possibly comes from the French " bouilli" (boiled), as French troops ate boiled beef in Napoleonic times. Tins of bully beef featured in the rations of armies until the Second World War. Cow-shaped can opener that is made of metal and painted black.
