She is seen on the battlements at the defence of Dunbar Castle in 1337-1338 when her husband, Patrick of Dunbar, rebelled against the English. The siege of the castle, commanded on the English side by Sir William Montagu, Earl of Salisbury, lasted 19 weeks, and failed to take the castle
