Acte III Scene VI - 50 mille Autrichiens... Oh le beau coup de filet, 1805, (1921)

Acte III Scene VI - 50 mille Autrichiens...Oh le beau coup de filet, 1805, (1921). Roughly translated as 50 thousand Austrians, what a lovely haul!, French cavalry officers celebrate the capture of enemy soldiers, who they have taken prisoner in ten days - faits prisonniers en dix jours. The Battle of Ulm, 16-19 October 1805, allowed Napoleon I to trap an entire Austrian army under the command of Karl Freiherr Mack von Leiberich, and to force its surrender near Ulm in Germany. Engraving published by Martinet [Paris, 1805]. From " Napoleon", by Raymond Guyot, [H. Floury, Paris, 1921]
