The Act of Union between England and Scotland being read before Queen Anne, 1707 (1826). Anne (1665-1714) was Queen of Great Britain and Ireland from 1702. She was the second daughter of James II and sister of Mary II. The passing of the Act of Union in 1707 made Queen Anne the last monarch to hold the separate titles of Queen of England and Queen of Scotland. (Colorised black and white print)
