Gas explosion at Neunkirchen, Saarland, Germany, February 1933. Sixty-odd people were killed and over 1, 000 injured when a gas-holder exploded at Neunkirchen in the Saar. The report was heard well over 100 miles away and fragments of the gas-holder flung half a mile through the air.
